2009: Contested two races at Silverstone

Motorsport career to date:

Started racing in the VW Cup at the beginning of 2008. Stayed in the championship for 2009, taking three poles and two wins to date. Made his Carrera Cup debut at Silverstone in August 2009.

2010 season:

"I had a brand new car delivered in October, so we had a few test days before Christmas. It's a big step and a big change to what I'm used to in the VW Cup. I'd like to try and feature in the championship as much as possible and to do that I need to get off to a good start.

"It's very exciting; the whole Porsche set-up, driving that type of car and working with the Motorbase team. We've got a great bunch of people and so as much as the racing will be fun, I think the off-circuit stuff will be good fun as well. That's part of it all; if you are spending the whole weekend you want to get on with the people around you and we'll bring the kids along as well. With David as the ringleader, it should all come together nicely.

"The target is the pro-am1 podium, but how realistic that is remains to be seen. We've made reasonable progress in the testing we've done so far and I've got some really good people to learn from. Ollie Jackson is my target and I've got to try and tag onto the back of him.

"One of the reasons I've joined the Carrera Cup is to push myself. I could have happily stayed in the VW and been winning races, but I'd rather go up against the pro guys and see how good a racer I can be. I'd love it if I could get anywhere near them.

"If you sit there and are happy to be a second a lap behind them, you'll never get any quicker. I want to get closer and closer and that's the plan. We'll have to see if the talent allows that."
