2007: finished eighth and third in pro-am
2008: finished eighth
2009: contested only two weekends, fourth at Knockhill

Motorsport career to date:

Started racing in the Caterham Academy in 2004. Finished tenth in the 2005 Caterham Roadsports Championship. Joined Team Parker Racing in 2006, finishing fourth in the UK Superlight Championship and sixth in the Caterham Eurocup. Made his Carrera Cup debut in 2007 and finished eighth. Repeated the position in 2008, but only contested two race weekends during the 2009 season.

2010 season:

Bateman is joining Motorbase Performance for the 2010 Carrera Cup GB season and is likely to flourish with the team.

He has good Carrera Cup experience having finished eighth overall in 2007 and 2008. Last year he sat out most of the season but contested two race weekends and took a fourth overall at Knockhill in August. "We had a good result at Knockhill and I want to build on that," said Bateman. "I've been training hard over the winter, both mentally and physically and I'm looking forward to working with the Motorbase team. Podiums and race wins are the aim."

Team boss David Bartrum is keen to see Bateman on the top step of the podium. "We want to get Charles his first Carrera Cup win and we want to do that as soon as possible. I'm very pleased with the team we've put together; it's going to be a great season."
