Man Behind the Lens

Peter Still, our man behind the lens, shares a selection of his favourite pics and a few words about the third round of the BTCC at Donington.

What is it with the third race at recent meeting's this season? I didn't realise it was written into the rulebook that the third race has to be run in the rain! Can't we collect all the race three's together and use them at Knockhill where you expect rain, or even Silverstone where you have chance of sheltering from it?

All in all, the racing at Donington was pretty good actually, whether you watched it at the track or sitting at home on your digital TV, live on ITV4. The only difference from what I have seen is the commentary! Sorry Tim, you lost me on more than one occasion!

Andrew Jordan seemed to be the star of the show at the weekend.. TWO independent wins, if he hadn't spun out in the last race, possibly three!

Chris Stockton did extremely well to adapt to front-wheel drive in his 'new' Seat Toledo, considering that his first experience of driving it came on Saturday morning!

Felt sorry for Motorbase! Rob Collard got hit by John George in race one, missed race two due to the damage, then had a suspension problem to put him out of race three!

Meanwhile Steven Kane just lost out on an independent win in race one due to an optimistic move by Stephen Jelley on the last lap!

Alan Taylor seemed to drive into everything that wasn't moving in the same direction as him. Hope he has plenty of spares to keep him going, still another 21 races left!

Gio showed his class over the weekend, again. How many Vectra's have they got out there? Everywhere I looked, I saw a VXR Vectra! Perhaps they are like the Gremlins from that film? Multiplying when they get wet!

Wish they could make those diesel Seat's noisier! What about fitting them with loudspeakers, so they could play loud music as they go 'into battle' like they did on the helicopters in 'Apocalypse Now'! At least you would hear them coming!

I'm sure Plato would welcome a machine gun fitted to his car. Mind you most people think he has one already!

Don't know about you, I'm ready for Thruxton!
