Jones Joins Motorbase for Champagne Moment at Oulton
Despite being involved in three action-packed races in round seven of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship at Oulton Park, Motorbase Performance BMW driver Steven Kane still had time to enjoy a Champagne Moment with Mark Jones from Warrington.
"Mark was one of hundreds who voted for Steven in championship sponsor HiQ's competition for fans after his strong showing at Snetterton in the previous round, where he took second place on the podium in the final race of the day.
As well as presenting Steven with his prize Mark spent the day as a VIP guest of the Motorbase Performance team – getting a behind-the-scenes look at what goes on in the garage during races, meeting the drivers and enjoying full hospitality.
HiQ launched the Champagne Moment award in a bid to interact with spectators, who can log onto HiQ's official website www.hiqonline.co.uk and vote for their star performer after each weekend of championship race action.
Motorbase Performance Team Driver Steven Kane said:
"I was honoured that fans like Mark voted for me to win this award, so it was great to meet him and show him around the paddock. Hopefully I will perform well enough to have a chance of winning it again in the three remaining rounds of the championship."
HiQ Champagne Moment winner Mark Jones from Warrington said:
"I have never won anything before, so to scoop the HiQ Champagne Moment was absolutely brilliant. Motorbase Performance BMW made the day perfect by introducing me to Steven and Rob, while showing me round the garage and giving me the VIP treatment. The team's hospitality and kindness made the experience even more special. They have certainly got a big fan club in me, my family and friends."
HiQ'sMSA British Touring Car Championship spokesman James Bailey said:
