Motorbase on a high heading for BTCC at Oulton Park

On the back of a mighty second place last time out at Snetterton, Motorbase Performance has very high expectations for the next three races in the 2008 HiQ MSA British Touring Car at Oulton Park over the weekend of 26/27 July.

Following the tremendous progress made at Croft, things were even better at Snetterton on 12/13 July when Steven Kane claimed second place in race three to back up a superb fourth place in the second race for Rob Collard.

Clearly both drivers are buzzing with confidence and now head to Oulton Park, perhaps the most challenging circuit on the calendar, determined to get their BMW 320sis onto the overall race podium against the might of the works cars from Vauxhall and SEAT.

"Snetterton was a great vindication for the team and all the hard work that has gone in to get the cars up to speed," said team boss David Bartrum "We always knew that we would start to show our true potential over the second half of the season and Snetterton was the result that we've been working for since we started in the BTCC."

The Cheshire park-land track of Oulton Park represents a spectacular three-dimensional challenge, with a raft of tricky corners, rises and dips to keep the drivers very busy. But both Kane and Collard relish such a challenge and know that they have the pace to challenge the cream of the BTCC pack. As ever, a bumper crowd is expected to pack into the circuit to see three all-action BTCC races in a frenetic six-hour window on Sunday afternoon.

"I love Oulton Park; it's a mega place," said Kane. "It reminds me a bit of motocross when you are going up and down hills and over blind crests. It's also likes the roads in Ireland, so I feel at home there."

Once again, extensive live coverage of the race action will be shown on ITV4. The first of Sunday's three races starts at 12.45pm, while live coverage of the afternoon's action will start at 12.30pm on ITV4.
