#44 Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3
Name: Devon Modell
From: Maidstone, Kent
Date of Birth: 14th September 1990
Devon Modell made a triumphant return to the racetrack in 2013 following a four-year sabbatical and quickly emerged as a force to be reckoned with in many of the world's most prestigious endurance racing championships and events.
The young racer from Maidstone, Kent studied Geography at Lancaster University and acclimatised well to car racing, capping off the 2013 season in the Renault UK Clio Cup – Britain's premier one-make saloon car championship – with a victory in the Michelin Clio Cup Series' 'Autumn Cup' event at Rockingham Motor Speedway, before making a seamless transition to endurance racing in the 2014 Dubai 24 Hours.
Modell – a prolific Kart racer and the 2005 Stars of Tomorrow Rotax MiniMax Champion – finished runner-up in his maiden Avon Tyres British GT Championship foray in 2014 and remained in the fight for the GT4 class title until the final throes of the season to be selected for the prestigious Aston Martin Racing Evolution Academy.
In 2015, Modell piloted an Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4 to the 24H Series SP3 class Drivers' and Teams' titles and he returns to defend his crown with the same team, car and co-drivers in 2016.
Modell dovetailed his 24H Series commitments with a Blancpain Endurance Series campaign, in which he most notably achieved a podium finish in the blue-riband Total 24 Hours of Spa, and he will continue to do so in 2016, this time as teammate to Jonny Adam and Ahmad Al Harthy in the Motorbase-prepared #44 Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3.
