Teng Tools Teams Up with the Collards

Airwaves BMW

August 30th 2009

HiQ MSA Touring Car Championship star Rob Collard saw his limelight stolen by two up and coming drivers at Silverstone.

The Collards with Colin North of Teng ToolsThe Airwaves BMW driver had just qualified second on the BTCC grid, but sons Jordan and Ricky Collard were the centre of attention at the famous Northamptonshire track as they took delivery of a unique tool box from leading tool brand Teng Tools.

The youngsters, who have been continuing their family's impressive tradition of success in motorsport and are making waves in the UK's top karting championships, lined up their karts alongside their father's BMW 320si touring car as they received a personalised Collard-branded toolbox from Colin North, the managing director of Teng Tools' distributor in the UK IQ Supplies.

The toolbox is the first of a new range of personalised units being released by Teng Tools for sale in the UK early in September.  It will be used to maintain the karts of the young Collard brothers as they take part in their respective karting championship rounds in the UK and Europe.

The latest customisable toolboxes from Teng Tools can be ordered online at www.toolorders.co.uk

Airwaves BMW Team driver Rob Collard said:
"It's fantastic that a quality brand like Teng Tools takes such an interest in the careers of young drivers.  Teng has supported me since I was Independents' champion in 2003 and it's great to continue that relationship with them in the BTCC with the Airwaves BMW team and also with drivers like my sons at the entry level of karting."

Colin North of Teng Tools said:
"This is the first of the new personalised range of toolboxes we are about to release in the UK and we're delighted that a great racing family like the Collards are the first to receive one.  It's great to support the top teams and drivers but it's important to support the next generation too, and from a personal point of view put something back in to the grassroots of motorsport.  The youngsters are so keen to be in the sport and be successful.  I'm sure the toolbox will be put to very good use in helping to ensure their karts are in top condition for racing."
