News 2006: Motorbase Takes to the Scottish Streets!

Motorbase Performance's cars were among the stars of a unique show when the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship went to Scotland for Rounds 22, 23 and 24.

Race organisers got together with the City of Edinburgh Council to stage a demonstration of the race cars on the city's ancients streets – with Edinburgh Castle providing a suitably dramatic backdrop – on the Thursday evening prior to the Knockhill event.

Both Dave Pinkney, in his BTCC Honda Integra, and Phil Quaife, in his Porsche 997, thrilled the 12,000-strong crowd as they blasted their way up Johnston Terrace near the city centre.

Motorbase chief David Bartrum said: "It was a great event and one we weren't going to miss. It was certainly something else seeing our race cars disappear up a hill in a capital city!

"It took us and our sponsors to a different audience and hopefully Dave and Phil helped convert a few into motor racing fans!"
